The National Reference Center for Rare Systemic and Autoimmune Diseases located in the Cochin Hospital has developed an expertise in the field of systemic vasculitis including large vessel vasculitis (giant cell arteritis and Takayasu arteritis), medium vessel vasculitis (polarteritis nodosa and adult Kawasaki diseases) and small-vessel vasculitis (immune complex related vasculitis and ANCA associated vasculitides). Further, there is also an expertise in Behcet disease in collaboration with the Opthalmology Department which is specialized in the management of uveitis. Thus, the centre is involved in the diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients with presumed and/or confirmed systemic vasculitis, at the regional and national level.
