The Erasmus MC is a tertiary healthcare provider (HCP) and the largest academic hospital in the Netherlands.

All medical specialities are represented, including state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic options. The HCP is a regional and national referral centre for patients with PID, AID and auto-immune diseases with respect to patient care and provides diagnostic support for other centres across Europe. All antibody diagnostics are performed within the centre, which also participates in trials. The clinical staff is consulted on daily basis by specialists from other hospitals nationwide.

The HCP is acknowledged by the Dutch Government and Minister of Health as a centre of expertise for PID, rare AID, AIE and auto-immune diseases. The HCP is recognised as an Academic Centre of Excellence in the Erasmus MC.

Internationally, the PID center is acknowledged by the Jeffrey Modell Foundation as a centre of excellence for PID. The HCP is nationally assessed by the IGZ (Inspectie voor de GezondheidsZorg (Health Care Inspectorate, established by the Ministry of Health, Wellbeing and Sports) and NIAZ (Nederlands Instituut voor Accreditatie van Ziekenhuizen (Dutch Institute for Accreditation of Hospitals). The HCP has implemented a nationally accredited Safety Management System (Veiligheidsmanagementsysteem (VMS)).
