The HUVH from Barcelona is the center with the greatest number of patients diagnosed with PID in Spain.

Monitoring of pediatric and adult patients is performed in a multidisciplinary manner and a holistic approach is applied to each PID case for the duration of treatment.

For this purpose, clinical diagnosis units for both children and adult patients are available in HUVH, as well as an advanced immunology laboratory that provides molecular diagnostic techniques (including next generation sequencing -lllGS-), day care hospitals for the administration of intravenous immunoglobulin and other drugs, a program of home-based replacement therapy of subcutaneous immunoglobulin, a program of psychosocial care for pediatric patients and their families and units of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for children and adult patients. The HSCT pediatric unit is accredited by the JACIE (Joint Accreditation Committee ISCT-EBMT). The hospital also has a transition program from pediatric patient to adult units within the Transversal Rare Diseases Program and a specific accredited biobank with a growing database of immunological samples.
