Facilities at the Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital and the Karolinska Univeristy Hospital: Radiology department, Clinical chemistry department, Clinical Immunological department (CompleK immunodiagnostlcs and flow cytometry unit. Next Generation Sequencing and Sanger Sequencing in cooperation with Science for Life laboratory), The following pediatric units: intensive care, oncology, endocrinology and rheumatology, pneumology unit with lung-function test and bronchoscopy, gastroenterology unit with gastroscopy/colonoscopy, Ear, nose and throat unit and Clinical genetics. Also, there is a team of healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with 1histiocytic disorders, in particular Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) and Hemophagocytlc lymphohistiocytosls 1(HLH), the latter both primary and secondary. This center also offers specialised biological and functional analyses, and genetic sequencing for diagnosis, both nationally and Internationally. Patients are treated by a multidisciplinary team according to clinical practice guidelines and expert consensus. Difficult cases are discussed with experts in the area. Due to the heterogeneity of the histiocytic diseases many patients are consulted in different clinics. Front-line research contributes to improved care of these patients and progress in the understanding of these diseases.
