SCID is a life-limiting IEI and remains undiagnosed in a substantial proportion of affected newborns. Successful treatment critically depends on early and infections-free diagnosis. SCID newborn screening has become reality in several countries and even more countries are about to implement it. Germany has started nationwide SCID screening in August 2019 and up-to-date more than 2M newborns have been screened.
In this webinar, Fabian Hauck is going to present the German screening algorithm, confirmatory diagnostics, the SCID-screening-network, and clinical, genetic, and epidemiological patient data. Unmet needs now emerging are going to be discussed.
