The Teams of experts at Bambino Gesú (Primary Immunodeficiencies, PID, Autoinflammatory Disease, AID, and Autoimmune diseases) routinely follow a large number of pediatric patients with rare autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases and primary immunodeficiencies. They have a long-standing experience in the diagnosis, research and treatment of these patients. All aspects of care are provided, from medical to genetics to nutritional and to psychological support.

Patients are managed according to National and International recommendations/guidelines, when available, including those from the Italian Association for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (AIEOP), the Italian Network for Primary Immunodeficiencies (IPINET) and the European Blood and Marrow Transplant Group (EBMT), the Paediatric Rheumatology European Society (PRES) and from the Single Hub and Access point for paediatric Rheumatology in Europe (SHARE) consortium. The Teams together discuss and take care of overlapping cases in multidisciplinary meetings and/or with international immunology experts.
