The HCP is a regional and national referral center for patients with PID, AID, AIE and auto-immune diseases with respect to patient care and provides diagnostic support for other centers across Europe. The clinical staff members are all involved in patient care but also in translational and clinical research projects, in order to further improve patient care and therapeutic strategies.

The HCP is acknowledged by the Dutch Government and Minister of Health as a center of expertise for PID, rare AID, AIE and auto-immune diseases. The HCP is recognised as an Academic Center of Excellence in the Erasmus MC.
